The overbridge takes shape. Although the angle of the bridge made construction difficult, the result was a more attractive feature.
Ballast is laid dry then diluted PVA is applied with a dropper.
Inside, the clerk is hard at work. The lighting is from high intensity yellow LEDs. In order to diffuse the light, the domed end of the LED is rubbed with fine grade emery paper. The delicacy of the etched projecting signs can be seen

GCR goods sheds varied in design depending on the needs of the specific location. This is based on the sheds at Quorn and Rothley, but modified to the requirements of our goods yard.

A ‘sentinel’ shunts the yard. The effectiveness of the overbridge and stairway can be seen.
This night-time shot shows the panelled brickwork, and the stone corbels which were made from Evergreen strips. The etched support brackets are also evident.
An ex-NER G5 0-4-4 tank arrives on a local push-pull service.
A busy moment at Kinchley Lane; a freight has just passed on the through line, the push-pull has reversed and the driver is ready for the return journey and a parcels train arrives in the platform.
The canopy is now complete and fixed to the booking office.
Although the Kinchley Lane layout represents a scene that would be typical of the early 1960s, a wide variety of rolling stock representing different periods from Victorian to the present day can be seen, ranging from scratch built to 'ready to run'. All the rolling stock belongs to the members, and it is Club policy to accept all models that members and visitors wish to run upon the layout, irrespective of railway company or period.
The scenery is hand built. The buildings are mainly based upon, or scale models of actual buildings on the Great Central Railway. A few kit parts have been incorporated in the buildings for detailing and ease of construction
